Chief Operations Director (COD) | Pool & Spa Industry

Pool and Spa Depot has been Tennessee's most trusted and fastest-growing pool and spa retailer for 30 years, with nine locations across Metro Nashville, East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and Northern Alabama.

We also proudly own and operate GPM Manufacturing in Franklin, KY, producing our branded Celtic, Icelandic, Harmonic, Treesse, Resort, Spillway, and Chill Springs product lines. This vertically integrated model allows us to maintain unique competitive advantages in the industry.

We will be interviewing qualified candidates for the position of Chief Operations Director, based out of our Stones River, TN headquarters. This position will be responsible for driving consistent execution, accountability, and operational alignment across our Retail, Human Resources, Customer Care, Service, Delivery, Construction, and Warehouse/Inventory groups. This role will also coordinate operational readiness with our Inventory, Purchasing, Finance, and Marketing teams.

Our strong sales platforms, aggressive promotional calendar, outstanding inventory selection and presentation, direct-from-manufacturer purchasing advantages, professional delivery, install, service, and repair expertise, and privately held ownership truly set us apart in this market. The Chief Operations Director's role will be critical in helping take us to and beyond our $100M revenue target.

Ideal candidates will have multiple years of proven experience in multi-location operations and will have demonstrated the ability to build a highly accountable, well-coordinated operating environment that supports and drives scalable growth, strong margins, and a consistent customer experience in related retail, logistics, construction operations, or a similar environment.

Compensation for this role will be based on commensurate, documented experience and results achieved in similar industries. Total compensation is negotiable and will be comprised of base salary and incentives based on P&L improvements in revenue, margin, and expense control. Additional consideration will be given to future profit sharing based on an earned, vested schedule.

Our Chief Operations Director will:
  • Act as the bridge between leadership direction and day-to-day operations, owning the performance, discipline, and consistency of execution across the business.

  • Ensure that company strategy, KPIs, and SOPs are accurately defined, implemented, collated, and that all associated behaviors are actively managed and optimized across all divisions in the business.

  • Effectively strategize across and with all divisions to continuously improve alignment, structure, talent, processes, and execution.

  • Eliminate operational inefficiencies and bottlenecks within our Warehouse, Logistics, and Operations groups in order to better serve our customers, company, and retail groups.

  • Possess and direct through a clear, execution-based leadership style, with the ability to hold Directors to high standards of implementation and execution.

  • Continuously act to improve internal talent and manage talent acquisition efforts to acquire and improve talent across all divisions.
