  • Reports to Recreation Supervisor-Ice Arena & Concessions
  • Located at Eden Prairie Community Center (16700 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN)
  • Primary hours include Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities

The Community Center Rink Team is responsible for providing customer support and assistance to individuals at the Community Center through a variety of roles. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:

  • Assisting the Skate School Coordinator to ensure smooth operations, including passing out rental skates and ensuring proper fit.
  • Works as a rink attendant for open skate, tot skate, and adult open skate programs by ensuring patrons have paid daily fees and are adhering to ice rink policies.
  • Provides high quality customer service by consistently exhibiting an enthusiastic and eager focus to members that is prompt and courteous; responding to questions with accurate information or referring them to an appropriate contact.
  • Maintains a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment for patrons by adhering to standards, policies and procedures; maintains the skate rental area and skating rinks by informing customers of useful information and updates relative to the established guidelines and enforcing rules.

While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  • Wednesday evening and Saturday morning availability required.
  • Ability to skate proficiently required.
  • This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, bend/stand/reach.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position include professional reference checks, background check, work verification and education verification if applicable.
