Description
The Ice Center Ice Technician/Building Attendant is responsible for performing rink resurfacing at designated times and performing maintenance and housekeeping tasks at the ice center (locker rooms, bathrooms, bleachers, hallways, and lobbies). This position will interact with the public in a professional, courteous, safe and helpful manner.
Work schedules are part-time:
  • Monday-Friday evenings (time varies between 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm).
  • Saturday and Sunday daytime and evening shifts.
  • Shift times will vary due to building usage

Essential Functions
  • Operate ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni) and other ice related equipment. Perform general maintenance of resurfacing machine and other ice related equipment.
  • Perform all opening and/or closing procedures to ensure the Plymouth Ice Center is safe and secure.
  • Perform and/or monitor routine janitorial and cleaning duties to maintain sanitation and appearance at the ice center (locker rooms, bathrooms, bleachers, hallways, and lobbies).
  • Assist in building supervision and maintenance for building usage; completing necessary duties and reporting for groups using the facility
  • Responsible for skate sharpening
  • Assist with public skating (ticket sales, skate rental, skate guard)
  • Supervise other temporary part-time staff in the absence of full-time employee

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work evenings (through 11:00 pm) and weekend hours. Some scheduled shifts may include holidays.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, often independently.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and have good communication skills
  • Related work experience is desired (ice resurfacing), but not required. Training tools will be provided to ensure success for the right candidate.

Seasonal, temporary and non-regular employees are not eligible for benefits.
