Job Description:

King Pine Ski Area is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Part-Time Seasonal Zamboni Driver / Ice Rink Attendant to support our winter operations. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, smooth, and high-quality ice surface while assisting with general rink and equipment maintenance throughout the winter season.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a winter recreation environment, operating equipment, and providing a positive experience for guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the Zamboni / ice resurfacing machine.
  • Assist with seasonal ice-making, including rink setup, flooding, building the ice base, and preparing the rink for opening.
  • Resurface and flood the rink according to established schedules and as conditions require.
  • Inspect the rink and ice surface and report safety concerns or maintenance needs.
  • Perform basic daily inspections of the Zamboni, including fuel/charge levels, water, blades, and other operating components.
  • Keep the Zamboni, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with basic rink maintenance, snow removal, and ice preparation as needed.
  • Report equipment or maintenance concerns to management promptly.
  • Follow all King Pine safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
  • Provide friendly and professional service to guests and coworkers.
  • Perform other winter operations duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
  • Previous Zamboni, ice resurfacing, or similar equipment experience preferred; training may be provided.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and follow established procedures.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in cold winter conditions.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with rink and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.

Schedule

This is a part-time, seasonal winter position. Hours will vary based on rink operations, weather, and business levels. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and school vacation periods is important.
