Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for direct supervision and operation of the Community Center Ice Rink, concession stand, parking lot, user groups, ice resurfacing and overseeing all immediate Ice Rink needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitor and ensure timely user group and internal programming usage.
  • Enforce facility rules and safety guidelines.
  • Responsible for assigning and supervising task management of staff.
  • Operation of a skate sharpening machine, cash register, Zamboni ice resurfacer, and various concession machines.
  • Daily duties as required, including customer sales, service and activity registration.
  • Performs minor janitorial duties and maintenance to equipment and machinery of ice arena.
  • Assist in measuring and laying out ice installation.

  • CORE COMPETENCIES:
    • Must demonstrate strong customer service skills.
    • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a group atmosphere.
    • Must possess strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
    • Must use good judgment, take initiative, and respond diplomatically and professionally to issues.

    EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
    Necessary:
    • High School/GED.
    • Minimum of six (6) months supervisory experience.
    • CPR and First Aid.
    • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.

    Desired:
    • A minimum of two years of experience performing skilled labor or trades work related.
    • Knowledge of Time Clock Plus and RecTrac systems.

    JOB LOCATION: Ice Rink, 101 Wulfsohn Road, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
    FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
    CATEGORY: Part-time/Seasonal (October - March)
    HOURS: Up to 28 hours per week (part-time)/40 hours (seasonal)
    Special Requirements
    This is a seasonal (Oct -Mar) position, 20-40hours/week. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending upon the specified need is mandatory.
