Job description

Who We Are:

Museum of Ice Cream is an inclusive & immersive brand, designed to captivate your sweetest fantasy and sugar-filled daydreams online and IRL. At The Museum of Ice Cream, we invite you to believe in the magic of creativity, to remind you that inclusive spaces do exist, and to show you that childlike wonder is worth savoring. In our world, ice cream is the agent of change and the vehicle to ignite the creative spirit that lives in all of us.

Fueled by the power of imagination, MOIC is a universe of possibilities with tons of room for you to explore.

Who You Are:

Museum of Ice Cream is looking for a Senior Project Manager with a Master's in Architecture and 10-20 years of experience, including real construction administration (in-house or agency background welcome), to join the Development team and own the New Museum Opening (NMO) process end to end, from kickoff through turnover. You are a self-motivated, highly process-driven leader who has managed builds and multi-department stakeholders through occupancy. This role is perfect for applicants passionate about experiential design and hands-on delivery within the world of themed experiences and entertainment, who want full breadth across a project, from early conceptual planning through the fine details of turnover, and who thrive holding multiple department leads accountable to one shared timeline and budget.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects across the Development department.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, budgets, and schedules.
  • Lead and coordinate project teams, including external consultants and contractors to achieve project goals.
  • Create a strong, data informed automated project cycle tracker, utilizing AI and up to date software tools to track budgets, dependencies, workflows etc.
  • Supervise development and maintenance of detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to address deviations from the plan.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including contracts, budgets, change orders and reports utilizing strong data analysis and AI.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes.
  • Support cross department communications, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

The monthly rate for this role is up to $14,000/month dependent on experience, with a potential conversion to fulltime after six months of employment.

Requirements

The Necessities:

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, including extended embedded assignments in Orlando and Los Angeles
  • 10-20 years of experience in architecture, including construction administration
  • Experience managing projects through design, construction, occupancy, and turnover
  • Demonstrated stakeholder and budget management across architects, general contractors, designers, and operations teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera, and the ability to review Rhino models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and experience using digital collaboration tools (Google Workspace, project management platforms, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities while balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution
  • Ability to make sound, data-informed decisions in the best interest of the business

The Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience working either in-house or within an architecture/design agency
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Experience delivering temporary or permanent immersive entertainment, themed attractions, museums, experiential retail, or similar story-driven environments
  • Demonstrated experience building or optimizing project workflows, operational processes, or delivery pipelines
  • Strong AI fluency, including leveraging AI to improve design, documentation, project management, or operational workflows
  • Track record of developing creative solutions to complex problems
  • Comfortable challenging existing processes and driving continuous improvement
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and experimentation
