Job description

Zamboni Driver | Part-Time | Enmarket Arena

Position Summary

The Zamboni driver will assist with all ice operations in the facility, including operating a Zamboni. In addition to setting up a hockey rink for events and breakdown of the hockey rink between events.

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 - $18.00

This position will remain open until November 20, 2026.

About the Venue

Oak View Group has an exciting opening for a Zamboni driver at Enmarket Arena. The Enmarket Arena is a 9,500-seat arena with luxury suites, club seating, and first-rate food and beverage. The Enmarket Arena bolsters entertainment in the Southeast by hosting must-see national touring concerts, family shows, comedians, and more. The venue also expanded sports in the region by introducing a tenant ECHL hockey team, the Savannah Ghost Pirates, along with presenting professional, collegiate, and amateur sporting events.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in a variety of hockey rink set-ups, including ice hockey matches, youth skates, college hockey, and other configurations.
  • Assist in installing hockey dashers and glass.
  • Assist in ice installation and removal.
  • Maintain cleanliness of hockey glass, cleaning prior to games and special events.
  • Operate a Zamboni during hockey practices, youth skates, and hockey games.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance of Zamboni's, ice edgers, and blade changes, including all facility equipment.
  • Supports OVG properties in the Savannah area, including Port Wentworth Ice Cove, Vystar Pavilion, and Johnny Mercer Theatre.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or trade school certificate required.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment or a Zamboni preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and an extended number of consecutive days.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Previous experience in a hockey facility is preferred, including ice installation, Zamboni, and ice edger. Possess demonstrated knowledge of NHL/AHL/ECHL standard rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of operational characteristics of events, including crowd management and control techniques, fire and public safety regulations, and food service practices preferred.
  • Operate equipment such as Zambonis, pallet jacks, golf carts, forklifts, boom lifts, scrubbing machines, or other light power-driven equipment.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and/or a stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
