IBM MQ / IBM i (iSeries) Engineer – Banking Domain

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IBM MQ / IBM i (iSeries) Engineer with strong experience in the Banking and Financial Services domain. The candidate will be responsible for supporting IBM MQ messaging infrastructure and/or IBM i environments used for critical banking applications and transactions.

The ideal candidate should have experience working with banking applications, payment processing, transaction systems, batch processing, IBM MQ, AS400/iSeries, DB2, RPG, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and support IBM MQ environments supporting banking applications.
  • Manage Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Listeners, Transmission Queues, and Dead Letter Queues.
  • Troubleshoot MQ message failures, connectivity issues, delays, and transaction processing issues.
  • Support IBM i / AS400 / iSeries production environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot banking applications and batch jobs.
  • Work with RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE, and DB2 for i as required.
  • Support banking transaction processing and integration between applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to payment processing, deposits, withdrawals, account transactions, and financial interfaces.
  • Support real-time and batch banking transactions.
  • Analyze application logs, MQ messages, system jobs, and database issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and provide permanent resolutions.
  • Coordinate with application, database, infrastructure, and business teams.
  • Support production incidents, problem management, and change management.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call/production support as required.
  • Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.

Required Skills

  • Hands on experience with IBM MQ and/or IBM i (AS400/iSeries).
  • Strong experience in Banking / Financial Services domain.
  • Experience with banking transaction processing systems.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM MQ administration/support.
  • Experience with IBM i / AS400 / iSeries environments.
  • Knowledge of DB2 for i.
  • Experience with RPG/RPGLE and CL/CLLE is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and application-to-application connectivity.
  • Experience working with high-volume, business-critical transactions.
