Job Summary:
Mindlance is a company seeking a System Engineer V to join their IBM Mainframe Engineering team in Business Operations Services. The role involves managing DB2 for z/OS systems, ensuring software installation, system tuning, and providing on-call support while collaborating with various teams to maintain critical application systems.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Infrastructure and DB2 Data Repository on the IBM Mainframe for critical Tier 1 application systems: Peoplesoft (HR/Payroll), Engine Maintenance, Reservation Centers, Employee Travel Management
• Provide 24/7/365 on-call support
• Responsible for keeping DB2 and all associated ISV products at current supported levels
• Provide testing support and product verification for DB2 and DB2 related software on all system upgrade (Operating System, Software Products, Hardware Replacement)
• Provide consultation services to Business users and Application Development teams related to accessing business data stored on the IBM Mainframe
• Significant interaction with other IBM Mainframe support groups such as Operating System, Data Base Administration, Operations/Coverage, Resource Management, Information Security, Job Scheduling to support ongoing operations
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree
• Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in DB2 Systems Programming on IBM Mainframes
• Strong working knowledge of DB2 for z/OS, IBM Assembler and SMP/E
• Experience with installing, maintaining, monitoring/tuning DB2 and ISV products
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred:
• 5 to 10 years of experience in DB2 Systems Programming on IBM Mainframes
• Previous DB2 Data Base Administration background
• Broadcom DB2 tools
