Journeyman Service Technician – Union Electrician (IBEW)


Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician – Union Electrician affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and/or residential environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong diagnostic skills, professionalism with clients, and the ability to work independently while upholding union standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment
  • Install, maintain, and service panels, breakers, transformers, lighting systems, and controls
  • Perform service upgrades and code-compliant modifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and OSHA safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and supervisors
  • Document service calls, materials used, and work performed
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required

Qualifications

  • Current membership in good standing with IBEW
  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program
  • Valid state electrical license (Journeyman or higher)
