Job description

Position Overview:
This is a full-time Union position and is responsible for completing field construction activities for assigned craft areas in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
Location & Travel:
  • Field assignment: To be ready for work on-time and abiding by IBEW Code of Excellence.
  • Ability to work first, second, and third shifts according to project needs.
  • Ability to work in all construction related environments - heights, vertical, hot, cold, inside, outside, noise, office, etc.
  • Occasional travel as necessary to other local union jurisdictions, trainings, offsite meetings, customer, or vendor facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Timesheets and phase codes submitted correctly and on time.
  • Equipment and tooling reporting on timesheets or project specific documents.
  • All testing equipment and results should be returned to the office at the end of each project. All transfers or drop-offs need communicated to project management the day of the move.
  • PO and packing slip submitted correctly and on time.
  • Credit card receipts applied correctly and submitted the day of the purchase.
  • Project Delivery adherence - hour tracker submissions, meetings.
  • Three week look-aheads submitted each Friday after manpower meetings.
  • Legible and timely documentation and communication of as-builts and change orders.
  • Twice daily communication of pre-job briefing with crew.
  • As needed submissions on IBA SharePoint for all tools, equipment, and maintenance needs.
  • Use of SharePoint folders and forms to adhere to company policies.
  • As needed submission of incident reports (IR's) and Good Catches.
  • Ensure all IBA employees have and maintain the correct equipment, PPE, or tools.
  • As needed, regular communication with IBA project management.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and IBA Fleet Policies.
  • Treat all customers as we would expect to be treated.
  • Follow all company and customer polices.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Completion of the respective IBEW apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • Respective Journeyman or Technician IBEW classification.

Other:
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, local codes, utility, BICSI, TIA/EIA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Craft certification, training, and experience appropriate for assignment scope.

Desired:
  • CDL
  • BICSI certification
  • OSHA 30
