Salary: $30 - $40/hour + Overtime

Shift: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Service Technician to perform inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on Hyster lift trucks and material handling equipment at customer sites and in-shop. This role requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to work independently in the field. Hyster OEM training and certification are required or will be completed upon hire.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Hyster forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs on internal combustion and electric lift trucks
  • Inspect lift trucks and attachments to identify safety and performance concerns
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled service work
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and Hyster technical manuals
  • Perform operational testing and quality checks following repairs
  • Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and work orders accurately
  • Communicate repair status, recommendations, and findings with customers and management
  • Maintain company service vehicle, tools, and equipment
  • Travel to customer locations, warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial facilities
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and customer safety requirements
  • Provide emergency breakdown support as needed


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of forklift, material handling, heavy equipment, diesel, or industrial maintenance field service experience required
  • Hyster OEM training or certification required (or willingness to complete upon hire)
  • Strong hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience reading schematics and technical drawings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Internal combustion and electric lift truck experience a plus
