Job description

Title: Global Consolidations Accountant

Location: Hybrid role in San Francisco, CA 94158

Duration: 3 months

UBRJP00032436

Job Summary:
Top 3 Responsibilities:

  • Assist in clean up and governance of master data and change management across financial systems
  • Perform monthly consolidation via HFM/Hyperion and ensure SOX compliance around consolidation
  • Perform analysis on the effects of foreign exchange to the P&L and balance sheet

Desired Skills:

  • Big 4 experience, consulting or audit experience with multinational engagements
  • Become a subject matter expert in data governance, multiple entity structuring, foreign exchange matters, and the consolidation process via Hyperion Financial Management
  • Assist in entity mergers, dissolutions, and/or changes in the functional currency
  • Cross-functional business partner to implement automation and create improvements to optimize the month-end close

Add additional notes here:

Please focus your search and screening on the following four pillars:

1. The "Hands-On" Seniority (The Most Critical Filter)

● Candidate Profile: Prioritize individuals with Senior Manager or VP pedigree who are intentionally pivoting to a "hands-on" Individual Contributor capacity where they maintain full ownership of execution.

● Evidence of Execution: Documentation must demonstrate the candidate has personally automated global consolidation reports, refined process narratives, and performed FX revaluations rather than merely supervising these tasks.

● The Rejection Filter: Any candidate who "manages through others" is a fail. We require the practitioner who actively builds Excel models and troubleshoots complex formulas.

2. Expert-Level Tool Kit (HFM & Oracle FCCS)

● System Depth: The candidate must be an expert (not just a user) in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Oracle Cloud/FCCS.

● Evidence of Mastery: Look for candidates who have led system integrations or master data governance cleanup. This proves they understand the "pipes" of the financial system, not just the final reports.

3. "Quality Control" Mindset (Accountability)

● The Responsibility: The HM needs someone who will look at a Senior Director's work and say, "This Excel logic is flawed," and then fix it.

● Required Background: Candidates with Big 4 Audit or Consolidations experience at a multi-national level (like MUFG or Deloitte) are preferred. They are trained to find the "needle in the haystack" in complex datasets.

4. Advanced Data Literacy

● Excel Sharpness: Screening must confirm they are "power users." They should be comfortable with complex intercompany eliminations and foreign exchange (FX) impact analysis.

● Complexity Level: The current EXT has a $140B portfolio of derivatives. We need someone who isn't intimidated by high-volume, high-stakes data.
