Job description

Role Overview

Provide overarching occupational health and safety expertise through the field of Industrial Hygiene to a national aerospace manufacturer in Wichita, Kansas. This full‑time, on‑site position involves an initial 3‑month term with potential extension based on performance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct workplace/shop floor industrial hygiene exposure assessments and risk‑ranking of employee exposures.
  • Manage data and tracking through the client’s internal database systems.
  • Deliver assessment reports and support continuous improvement of industrial hygiene programs.
  • Work independently, meet budget and timeframe requirements, and produce high‑quality results.
  • Collaborate with client relationship managers to coordinate and execute safety and industrial hygiene projects.
  • Implement agreed‑to service plans, monitor progress, and report on completion.
  • Serve as an advisor to the client on occupational safety and industrial hygiene matters.
  • Provide input on potential new EHS projects to client relationship managers or business development staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience in occupational safety and industrial hygiene.
  • Professional credentials such as GSP, ASP, CSP, or CIH are desirable.
  • Experience in manufacturing‑assembly or heavy industry; aerospace, defense, or automotive experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety and industrial hygiene concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with similar exposure groups (SEG) monitoring, hazard communication, hearing conservation, and respiratory protection.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to manage data, prepare reports, and maintain compliance with EHS regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Execute technical projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Meet customer needs and respond to emergencies quickly.
  • Achieve annual goals for personally generated revenue and utilization.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development as agreed with the Business Unit Manager.
Job Location

Charleston, South Carolina. Occasional travel within the state.
