Job description

Overview
Traveling Periodontal Dental Assistant
Midwest Dental, supported by Smile Brands, is seeking a dependable and adaptable Traveling Periodontal Dental Assistant to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated dental assistant who enjoys variety, teamwork, and working across multiple offices.
Position Overview
This is a traveling periodontal assistant position. You will travel with a periodontist approximately two weeks per month, typically on an every-other-week schedule, with the potential to expand to a third week in the future.
During the alternating weeks, you will travel to offices throughout the region to support general dentists and hygienists as needed.
Schedule (days/hours)
Monday-Thurs 7:45-5, Friday 7:45-4
Responsibilities
  • Travel with the periodontist to assigned office locations (approximately 2 weeks per month)
  • Set up, transport, and maintain dental instruments and clinical supplies
  • Load and unload instruments and equipment at each location efficiently and safely
  • Assist periodontist chairside during periodontal procedures
  • Support general dentists and hygienists during non-periodontal weeks
  • Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, organized, and accounted for
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and clinical readiness across all locations
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across different office environments

Qualifications
  • Meet all state specific dental assistant credentialing requirements for the duties assigned in the state of employment
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
  • Strong communication and commitment to excellent patient care

Compensation
$23-$28/hr offering a $2000 Sign on Bonus
