Job description

BGE is seeking an experienced Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) Director/Project Manager for the Public Works department in our North Texas offices (Fort Worth, Frisco, or Dallas).

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal review agencies to ensure design meets requirements and protects the public while still delivering value to the client and exceeding their expectations.
  • Serve as team leader for a variety of hydrology and hydraulics studies including master drainage plans, no impact analysis, mitigation studies, river and floodplain evaluations, and other advanced H&H analyses.
  • Manage the preparation of drainage reports, feasibility studies, FEMA map revisions, and public presentations.
  • Utilize advanced mapping and hydrologic and hydraulic design software programs to assist in project analysis and design.
  • Prepare scope of work, proposals, and schedules for multi-phase projects.
  • Licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas with 8 or more years of post-graduate experience with an emphasis on Hydrology and Hydraulics.
  • Technical understanding of hydrology and hydraulics and proficiency in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Bentley products, ArcGIS, XPSWMM, and Excel.
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal drainage requirements and procedures including thorough knowledge of FEMA and floodplain management regulations.
  • Maintain ownership of work products with a desire to serve others through professional engineering.
  • Mentor young engineers and EITs to cultivate a productive, healthy team environment and provide quality assurance and quality control feedback.
  • Represent the company in business development activities with potential clients and community leaders and actively seek future projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Registered PE in Texas required
  • 10 or more years of consulting experience serving municipalities and governmental agencies
  • Strong experience with H&H and drainage planning and design; H&H modeling experience should include steady and unsteady modeling and 1D and 2D modeling (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a Client Manager and attract new Clients
  • Previous Project Management experience providing repeat service to the same Client is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to prepare and delivery client presentations
  • Works well with others and shares success with team
