Teledyne CARIS is the world's leading developer of geospatial software for ocean mapping and marine information systems, headquartered in Fredericton, Canada. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Hydrographic Technical Support Consultant to join our CARIS team!
In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in hydrographic data processing, digital terrain modelling, and bathymetric and topographic data management. You will act as a primary point of contact for customers, delivering high-quality technical support and training while helping clients maximize the value of CARIS software solutions.
This position offers a dynamic blend of technical problem-solving, client engagement, and international collaboration.
What You Will Do:
Provide first-line technical support to customers via email, phone, and online platforms
Deliver software training sessions both remotely and onsite at client locations worldwide
Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients
Analyze customer environments and challenges to identify technical issues and design integrated solutions
Document workflows, standard operating procedures, and technical knowledge for internal and client use
Support marketing and sales initiatives, including participation in international conferences and exhibitions
Provide expert consultancy services as experience and expertise deepen in the role
Bachelor's degree in Hydrography, Geomatics, or a related discipline
OR equivalent professional experience in hydrographic surveyingExperience with hydrographic software such as EIVA, Hypack, QPS, HIPS and SIPS, or equivalent
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python preferred)
Strong presentation skills and confidence delivering training to diverse audiences
Fluency in English (additional languages are an asset)
Must be a United States citizen (due to client, regulatory, or project requirements)
Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25-30%)
Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred / Asset Qualifications
Experience with CARIS software products
Knowledge of bathymetric LiDAR systems
Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of RESTful APIs, SQL, and JSON
Work with industry-leading technology used around the world
Engage with global clients across government, defense, and commercial sectors
