Field Project Controls Engineer

What you will enjoy doing*
  • In this role, you will be responsible for tracking subcontractor progress claims and reconciling progress against actual costs incurred
  • You will prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and management summaries for site and home office stakeholders
  • Identifies cost risks, trends, and early warning indicators and communicates findings to the construction and home office teams
  • Further, you will support change orders, trends, and claims through preparation and maintenance of cost reports as required
  • You will work closely with construction teams and subcontractors, engaging directly on site to resolve cost and progress issues
  • Demonstrate understanding of earned value principles and labor productivity drivers to support forecasting and performance evaluation
  • You will work independently while coordinating closely with site and home office project controls and construction teams

What makes you great
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of field experience providing comparable knowledge and skills is required for this role
  • You have five to eight (5-8) years of project controls or cost engineering experience on construction projects
  • Further, you have three to five (3-5) years of experience supporting active construction sites in a cost control or project controls role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis
  • You also have familiarity with cost management systems such as SAP, ECOsys
  • Familiarity with scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Strong attention to detail with an understanding of the importance of accurate and consistent cost data
  • Comfortable working in a site environment and engaging directly with construction teams and subcontractors
