Job description

The Shipping/Receiving Team Member is responsible for the daily shipping & receiving activities within HTC.  This team member is also responsible for inventory control within the warehouse and storage areas.  This role supports shop floor personnel as required. If needed, member must be available to deliver and/or pick up materials from suppliers using company vehicle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect (for damage/count), enter in ERP system, and relocate to correct locations, all materials received at HTC (within 24 hours of receipt)
  • Coordinate all "In Process" outside operations (OSP)
  • Route received items and paperwork (if required) to specific departments or individuals
  • Process RGA (Return Goods Authorization) product utilizing defined procedures
  • Verify outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
  • Prepare documents for domestic and international shipments
  • Counts, weighs or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information to shipping documents (BOL, Pick Lists, Orders, etc.).
  • Construct and/or assemble wooden or cardboard containers/crates for outgoing shipments
  • Ensure that all shipping documents (including inside the container) and labeling of the container are correct to specific requirements
  • Be certified (documented) to operate all material handling equipment (hand trucks, forklifts, cranes, scales etc.)
  • Be able to operate (licensed) all company owned motor vehicles
  • Ship product utilizing local carrier processes such as FED-EX, UPS and LTL's
  • Define, select and coordinate all outgoing trucking requirements (rates, routes, feasibility, sizing etc.) to ensure on time deliveries with no damage


Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 Year experience in manufacturing or distribution environment desired
  • 2 Years in shipping and receiving desired
    • Knowledge of BOL (Bill of Lading) processes and paperwork
    • Knowledge and hands on experience in International Shipping processes and paperwork
    • Knowledge and hands on experience with shipping quotes, routes and rates
  • Forklift experience desired
  • Computer knowledge desired

Work Environment:

  • Air-conditioned shop
  • Local traveling for materials, supplies and pick/deliveries to and from suppliers.
