ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Setup and run product testing per engineer requirements.
  • Analyze product failure modes and document findings for engineers and customers.
  • Maintain lab test equipment by performing calibrations and repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on test stand equipment.
  • Assemble and disassemble test products for analysis.
  • Maintain and order tools and supplies for the lab.
  • Perform wear testing using various fluids supplied by customers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment in all lab area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

1-3 years of experience working in a fluid power or engineering laboratory is desirable. The individual must have good mechanical skills and be familiar with close tolerance machinery.

Licenses/ Certificates

Fluid Power Industrial Hydraulic Technician Certification preferred.

Language Skills

Have the ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering designs, drawings, test results and studies and all other related information pertaining to materials, treatments, processing, and manufacturing. Have ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers. Have ability to write reports and business correspondence. Have ability to effectively present information to management and customers.

Reasoning Ability

Have ability to define problems, collect and research data, establish facts, use intuition and experience to complement data, and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulders, climb, kneel, or crouch. The employee must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and capability to occasionally lift and/or to move up to 25 pounds. Using hand tools, the employee must be able to assemble and disassemble test-stand set-ups, products, and their installation and come into close contact with various operating fluids required for the test, function, and performance evaluation of products.

Other Qualifications

This position requires the ability to operate a variety of office equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, telephone, fax machine, hoists, cranes, lab and production test stand equipment along with associated devices used for monitoring and measuring all size and performance aspects of a product under development, test or production.
