Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment

Position: Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
Location: Arizona
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts | 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Call: Required; approximately 6–10 call shifts per schedule
Call Response: 30 minutes required
Weekend: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
Holidays: Rotating holiday coverage

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-volume cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will have strong Cath Lab and Level I Trauma experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with complex cardiac and vascular cases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide circulating RN support for Cath Lab procedures.
  • Care for patients undergoing interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and vascular procedures.
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and patient safety standards.
  • Assist with complex procedures including TAVR, MitraClip, IABP, EP procedures, and vascular interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Participate in scheduled call, weekend, and holiday rotations.
  • Demonstrate competency with Foley catheter insertion and central-line dressing changes through required simulation training.

  • Cath Lab: 3 rooms
  • EP Room: 1
  • Hybrid Room: 1, supporting both vascular and cardiac procedures
  • Volume: Approximately 10–25 cases per day
  • EMR: Cerner & Xper
  • Telemetry: Philips
  • Equipment: Philips & Siemens
  • RT & Pharmacy: Available 24/7
  • Orientation: Approximately 2 days of unit-specific orientation

Requirements

  • Active Arizona RN License
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • Previous Cath Lab experience
  • Level I Trauma experience preferred/required
  • Strong sterile-technique competency
  • Ability to work independently in a high-acuity, high-volume environment
  • Must be available for required call and weekend rotations
  • Must meet the facility's 50-mile radius traveler policy

Pre-Employment / Facility Requirements

  • Travelers must successfully complete a Dysrhythmia Exam with a minimum passing score of 80%.
  • Up to 2 attempts are permitted.
  • Required simulation lab training includes Foley catheter insertion and central-line dressing changes, depending on unit assignment.
  • Simulation skills are pass/fail, with strict adherence to sterile-field procedures.
  • Additional educational training may include lifts, restraints, and wound care.
