Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring CardioLab experience and a Connecticut or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Level II Trauma Center short term acute care hospital setting within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite,
• Two cardiac catheterization labs performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures on adult patients,
• Procedures include stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, IVC filters, TEEs, and Cardioversions,
• TAVRs and MitraClips performed in conjunction with the hybrid OR,
• Common diagnoses include Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease,
• Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a 30-minute break,
• Call required 6-9 days per month, with weekday call from 5:15 PM to 7:00 AM and weekend call covering 24 hours,
• Cath lab remains available for emergency cardiac procedures 24/7,
• Floating to Milford Campus required as needed,
• Uses Epic charting system,
Job Requirements
• Active CT or compact RN license required,
• BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience),
• Scrubbing and circulating procedure experience required,
• CardioLab system experience required,
• Experience with diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations required,
• Experience with cardiac stent placement and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring required,
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required,
• IV therapy skills including starting and maintaining IVs required,
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required,
• Epic charting experience preferred,
• One professional reference required for consideration,
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only,
Additional Information
• Provide direct patient care in an interventional cardiac catheterization lab setting including scrub and circulate procedures,
• Scrubs are provided for this role,
• Part of the Yale New Haven Health System with free parking available,
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted,
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler,
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
