Daikin Applied is seeking a HVAC Technician Helper/Tradesman In this role, you will be assisting in the diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location: Portland, OR - Onsite
What you will do:
  • Assist in the maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
  • Assist with repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
  • Assist with rebuilds HVAC & applied equipment
  • Receive detailed direction while sharing the hands-on task responsibilities with Technicians II, III, and Lead
  • Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication
  • Interact with customer by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
  • Basic data entry and ability to navigate a computer or smart phone for use of email, internet, Microsoft applications and other tools as required
  • Wear company uniform and required safety PPE, perform job hazard analysis
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
  • Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or currently enrolled in a program
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
  • Current first aid / CPR card

The expected hourly rate for this position is $22/hr in OR. The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
