Your New Role
  • Lead residential HVAC retrofit installations from start to finish

  • Manage, mentor, and develop install helpers and junior installers

  • Install and commission residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, ductwork, indoor air quality products, and HVAC accessories

  • Read and interpret installation layouts, system designs, and scopes of work

  • Troubleshoot installation challenges and field-related issues

  • Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and local code requirements

  • Verify system performance through startup procedures and commissioning processes

  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, project managers, and office staff

  • Maintain organized job sites, vehicles, tools, inventory, and installation materials

  • Complete installation documentation, startup reports, commissioning reports, and related paperwork

  • Represent HVAC Cowboys professionally on every project

  • Serve homeowners throughout Austin, Texas, and surrounding service areas including Spicewood, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Westlake, West Austin, and Marble Falls

  • Minimum 5 years of residential HVAC installation experience

  • Proven experience leading residential retrofit installation crews

  • Strong understanding of airflow, duct design, static pressure, and HVAC system performance

  • Ability to install and commission complete residential HVAC systems

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions

  • EPA Certification preferred

  • NATE Certification preferred

  • Experience with inverter systems, Mitsubishi equipment, Carrier Infinity systems, or other high-end residential HVAC systems preferred

  • Brazing and advanced HVAC troubleshooting experience preferred

  • Experience with load calculations and HVAC system design concepts preferred
