Job description

Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available HVAC Inside Sales position in Springfield, IL.  We seek a career-minded person looking for a long-term position with a great company.

Candidates must be available to:

·         Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

·         Be available to work from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Principal Accountabilities

Ability to read blueprints/schematics

Accurately interpret customer needs and work with the customer and outside sales team to offer appropriate solutions to satisfy requirements

Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms

Arrange and direct the delivery of products

Assist outside salesman with quotes, orders, and submittals/O&M’s

Attend industry trade shows and product training

Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders

Emphasize product features based on customers’ needs and technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations

Enhances the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Ensure timely order processing and confirmation of orders

Enter sales orders into the Eclipse system and pick customer order tickets.

Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates

Follow up on estimates and bids submitted to customers

Handle incoming customer requests for quotes and product information (equipment specifications, applications, and accessories)

Identify prospective customers or develop territories by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations, attending trade shows, and conferences.

Manage assigned customer orders from origination to delivery

Merchandise and stock products on displays and in self-service areas.

Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, pricing, and sales.

Occasionally, visit job sites to troubleshoot problems that can’t be resolved over the phone.

Participate in organizations, trade shows, and conferences.

Position can require after-hours phone calls from customers and occasionally opening up the shop for customers

Process warranty claims

Provide the Branch Manager with reports or additional tasks as requested

Provide customers with product brochures or catalogs

Provide information on the full range of products and programs offered by the company to the customer

Provide post-sales follow-up as required

Provide technical support, including monitoring shipping, delivery, and return status, as required

Recommend products to customers based on customers’ needs and interests

Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints

Work with customers, outside sales, and internal/external suppliers to resolve issues as they arise

Work with other departments to answer questions (e.g., factory, warranty, finance).

Perform other duties as requested.

Minimum Education/Experience Required

High School Diploma or its equivalent

Experience with HVAC preferred; Plumbing knowledge not required but helpful

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Ability to learn the Eclipse software

Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines

Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions

Mathematical reasoning- the ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve the problem

Must be able to determine and prioritize workload

Must be very detail-oriented and focused on accuracy

Must have strong interpersonal communication skills

Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload

Strong organizational skills required

Working Conditions

Normal warehouse environment

Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Physical strength to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
