Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The Service Tech 4 - HVAC performs maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, guiding junior technicians, and ensuring systems are running efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds the customer's expectations.

  • Provides repair work on refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.

  • Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.

  • Provides department support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.

  • Provides necessary training to new or less qualified technicians as needed.

  • Maintains proper truck inventory continuously and drives company vehicle in a safe manner.

  • Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education / Training
  • High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes.

  • Must have passed Tech Skills level 4 with an 80% or better.

  • Valid EPA certificate.

Work Experience / Skills
  • 3-5 years' experience in construction HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related industry.

  • Must have chiller experience.

  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical control systems is required.

  • Knowledge of hand and power tools.

  • Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping of refrigeration equipment.

  • Knowledge of computer-controlled systems.

  • Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical and plumbing blueprints.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Good driving record.

  • Ability to pump down all refrigeration systems and reclaim refrigerant from all types of systems.

  • Good communication and presentation skills and excellent customer service.

  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
