Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Description

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems while delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused service. The HVAC Technician uses strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure systems operate efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential or commercial units.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools and methods.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections according to established schedules and company guidelines.
  • Monitor HVAC systems and operations to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Perform HVAC system checks and maintenance as directed, and repair any faulty equipment or systems in a timely manner.
  • Assist with HVAC plan layouts and installs, ensuring proper placement, configuration, and connection of equipment and components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics to complete installations and repairs accurately.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of equipment, tools, and materials required to complete daily service tasks.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Communicate findings, repair options, and recommendations clearly to customers and respond to their questions in a professional manner.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and system conditions as required by company procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience working with HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair (HVAC experience preferred).
  • EPA Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Ability to use HVAC diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in both mechanical and electrical contexts.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and familiarity with HVAC components and systems.
  • Basic electrical skills related to HVAC service and repair.
  • Valid driver's license to travel to customer locations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Capability to monitor HVAC systems and perform routine preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Ability to maintain proper inventory levels of tools, equipment, and materials needed for daily service tasks.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
