What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
  • Lead and supervise HVAC/Refrigeration technicians on service calls, installations, and maintenance projects.
  • Define and set up ideal operational settings and parameters for all refrigeration equipment (i.e. superheat, regulators, pressure settings, defrost cycles, etc.)
  • Proactively monitor system performance and take appropriate actions to ensure that the system is operating optimally.
  • Pumps out/evacuate refrigerant as necessary for component level replacement and/or repair.
  • Provide in depth troubleshooting of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and controls systems to root cause and recommends corrective action
  • Perform calibrations (slide valve, potentiometers, RTDs, pressure transducers, etc.)
  • Replace components within the refrigeration’s system, with safe LOTO procedures and in accordance with process safety management requirements.
  • Define and set up ideal operational settings and parameters for all refrigeration equipment (i.e. superheat, regulators, pressure settings, defrost cycles, etc.)
  • Proactively monitor system performance and take appropriate actions to ensure that the system is operating optimally.
  • Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines.
  • Install and repair climate control systems, refrigeration units, and beverage equipment.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and project managers to ensure efficient job scheduling
  • Travel to job sites in the service area and work with dispatch to ensure the schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to the customer.
  • Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.
  • Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technology.
  • Identify, report and educate clients on potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services)
  • Come in every day eager to learn and develop new skills

What We’re Looking For

  • EPA 2 or 3 required, or Universal EPA preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a refrigeration technician preferred
  • Brazing and soldering skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work outdoors, in heat and cold
  • Ability to service walk-in coolers/freezers and ice machines
  • You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small spaces.
  • Ability to pass a drug test, physical fitness test, motor vehicle record check, and background check.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
