Job description

This family owned and operated HVAC contractor in Southern Arizona seeks technicians to join our team! We are looking for passionate and experienced technicians in the commercial field for service, repair and install. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 7-8 years of experience since this position is in field working with other technicians who are multiskilled in this demanding field. You have a unique opportunity to join a small yet diverse team before summer hits hard. With May month already in motion, we want to hit the ground running with vetted technicians who understand the industry of commercial HVAC needs. We only have room for 1 position for this year, so we expect the employee to be able to know the job and execute the work.

This position is located in Tucson, AZ and we service about 100 mile radius for job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Visit our clients' businesses to troubleshoot, diagnose, install, and repair their heating and cooling systems
  • Complete commercial HVAC work & repair orders in a timely fashion
  • Estimate time & extent of repairs
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Maintain material & supply inventory
  • Rotating on-call schedule and overtime during peak seasons
  • Represent yourself consistent with Zona Mechanical standards for punctuality, experience, and appearance
  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking
  • Requires local travel as necessary
  • No upsell requirement
  • On call schedule

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 7 years professional work experience as a Commercial HVAC Technician
  • EPA license - Universal
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently, includes organizational and time-management skills
  • Computer literate with email capability, MS Office/Google Suite, phone application abilities and related business and communication tools
  • Additional Experience a plus, but not required
    • Familiarity with MSHA certifications (must be willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
    • Any unit specialty certifications

Physical Demands

  • HVAC technicians can often spend their time bending, crouched, or leaning on their knees as they install and work on different types of equipment
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
