Commercial HVAC/R Technician (Heating, Ventilation & Refrigeration Systems Specialist)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial HVAC/R Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with all environmental and safety standards.

This role supports a variety of commercial buildings and large-scale mechanical systems, including complex HVAC infrastructure and cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install commercial HVAC/R systems, including WSHP, packaged units, split systems, air handlers, and refrigeration equipment in new and existing buildings
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system specifications to ensure proper installation and integration
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, filter replacement, and system optimization to reduce downtime and energy consumption
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC/R system issues, including electrical components, refrigerant leaks, motors, pumps, and control systems
  • Work on large commercial systems, including cooling towers, air distribution systems, and building automation controls
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, safety standards, and refrigerant handling protocols
  • Respond to emergency HVAC system failures and perform urgent repairs as needed
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, parts usage, and maintenance documentation
  • Communicate effectively with clients, building managers, contractors, and team members
  • Provide professional customer service and technical recommendations
  • Stay current on HVAC/R technologies, tools, and industry best practices through ongoing training
  • Travel to various commercial job sites as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (technical training preferred)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC/R service or installation
  • Strong experience with large commercial HVAC systems, including cooling towers
  • Hands-on knowledge of pumps, motors, air handlers, refrigeration systems, and HVAC controls/automation systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
  • Strong understanding of HVAC codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards

  • Ability to manage relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams
