Job description

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee the successful planning, coordination, and installation of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical construction, project documentation, and customer relationships.

The Project Manager will work closely with field teams, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical or construction education is a plus
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical construction, or a related commercial construction environment
  • Previous HVAC project management, estimating, engineering, or field experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, installation methods, and construction processes
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to move throughout an office, construction site, and outdoor environments

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Preparation
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, scope of work, alternates, estimated costs, and installation requirements
  • Develop a thorough understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, materials, labor requirements, and project schedules
  • Coordinate project planning with field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
  1. Project Documentation
  • Prepare, communicate, and maintain project documentation
  • Manage equipment and material submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and other project records
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and maintained throughout the life of the project
  1. HVAC Project Management
  • Manage commercial HVAC/mechanical construction projects from planning through completion
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and field activities
  • Monitor project schedules and address issues that could impact deadlines
  • Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and customer expectations
  • Work closely with Project Foremen, Superintendents, and field teams to resolve issues and keep projects moving
  1. Project Financials
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, labor, and overall financial performance
  • Review project progress and identify potential cost overruns or changes
  • Assist with pricing and managing change orders
  1. Customer & Vendor Relations
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders
  • Communicate project status, schedules, challenges, and solutions
  • Use knowledge of customer needs and HVAC systems to identify opportunities for additional work and future business
  1. Cross-Divisional Coordination
  • Coordinate HVAC and mechanical activities with other divisions on multi-discipline projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution
