Job description

Full-time. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama medical, prescription, dental and vision insurance. Vacation and holidays. 401k retirement. Pay rate will be based level of experience. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems in commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, be able to troubleshoot issues efficiently, and ensure that all installations and repairs are done in accordance with industry standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in commercial buildings
  • Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and determine necessary repairs
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
  • Ensure all installations and repairs meet industry standards
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients
  • Document all service and installation actions
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Proven work experience as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certifications Required
  • EPA 608 Certification - Required nationwide for handling refrigerants; must be in addition to your Alabama license www.tradecertinfo.com.
  • State HVAC License - Required for working as an HVAC contractor in Alabama.

Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years or a combination of classes and work experience in commercial HVAC

Physical Requirements
  • Walking and climbing (stairs) to access other departments and buildings.
  • Carrying and lifting supplies and equipment up to 75 pounds to waist height.
  • Bending, kneeling, reaching to store & retrieving supplies, cleaning high & low areas, behind exhibits, and maneuver equipment.
  • Sight, wrist movements, feeling to inspect areas for cleanliness and to use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Talking and Hearing to communicate with supervisor(s), guests, and employees in person.
  • Ability to be trained to use Lift Equipment and Operate Man Lifts to complete job duties.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
