Job description

Air Controls - Billings, Montana’s premier Plumbing, HVAC, and Refrigeration contractor. We are the provider of choice for apartment complexes, offices, grocery stores, warehouses, and a wide range of commercial buildings throughout the region. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled HVAC Construction Installation Technician to join our team!

Our HVAC Construction Installers perform high-quality installations for commercial heating and cooling systems. You’ll join an experienced, professional team focused on delivering reliable, timely service and exceptional installations.

Essential Functions

  • Install HVAC controls and related components
  • Perform refrigerant piping and ensure proper line set installation
  • Complete furnace venting installations according to code and manufacturer specifications
  • Conduct system start-ups to ensure proper and safe operation
  • Handle warranty-related tasks, including troubleshooting and minor repairs
  • Perform job turnover with customers, explaining system features and operation
  • Prepare company paperwork as instructed
  • Work as a dedicated team member to ensure fast, and flexible HVAC installations
  • Maintain truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and courteous interactions with our customers
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform miscellaneous HVAC duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC installation field experience
  • Ability to work additional hours during peak seasons
  • Verifiable work experience with references from previous employers
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Strong general installation knowledge and ability to operate basic hand tools
  • Professional, neat, and clean appearance
  • Team-oriented mindset & self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Physical demands and abilities

  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-75 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items over 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work at various heights as required
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, or maintain balance
  • Capable of working in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, confined spaces, etc.)
