Job description

Job Summary:
Supervises Forrest General personnel and outside contractors for HVAC construction and servicing of Forrest General buildings as assigned by the Director of Construction. Assists "Supervisor-Procurement and Service" with procurement of HVAC materials. Performs quantity take-offs and makes HVAC material selections. Prepares orders for HVAC supplies for projects assuring supplies meet design requirements and building codes. Assists in overseeing and installing/remodeling HVAC systems as part of renovation projects. Responsible for assuring applicable codes are met. Assures necessary inspections and testing are complete either by doing such work him/herself or through outside firms. Performs additional related duties as required to meet project schedules, which may include site visits and corresponding with Contractors outside of regular business hours. Must have a willingness to work for the best interest of the hospital and with due consideration for patients. Must be able to work under emergency conditions and difficult situations. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while begin sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Performance Expectations
  • Demonstrates the aptitude to layout, schedule, and oversee all phases of work, the proper sequence of work, based on a set of construction documents.
  • Demonstrates the aptitude to manage multiple projects occurring at the same time.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in HVAC construction trade. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Maintain a Good Driving Record
  • Licensed by the State of Mississippi Board of Contractors in one of the following Mechanical areas: Ductwork for Heating, A/C, and Ventilation, Heat, A/C Ventilation (HVAC) or Insulation-Pipes and Duct Work.

***15+ Years of Experience in lieu of Licensure required
Mental Demands:
Ability to cooperate with others, follow directives and demonstrate initiative.
