Hutton is seeking a qualified Electrical Quality Control (QC) professional to join our team. This position will collaborate closely with electricians, project managers, and other Hutton team members to maintain compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, and company quality standards. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of electrical systems, and familiarity with industrial construction practices and industry codes are essential for success in this role.

You will be working with Hutton’s Industrial team, supporting the construction of manufacturing plants, processing expansions, utility infrastructure, structural concrete foundations, steel, equipment installations, and high-performance production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field inspections and electrical testing and review electrical contractor/subcontractor work for compliance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
  • Inspect electrical installations across the full range of industrial systems, from medium-voltage distribution through low-voltage power, controls, instrumentation, and signal systems, including conduit, cable tray, wiring, grounding and bonding, panels, switchgear, transformers, motor controls, and electrical equipment.
  • Document inspection findings, non-conformances, deficiencies, and corrective actions in accordance with the project Quality Control Plan.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and equipment documentation, and provide guidance to field personnel regarding inspection requirements and quality standards.
  • Communicate proactively with project engineers, construction supervisors, electricians, equipment vendors, and owners’ representatives to identify and resolve quality concerns before they impact project progress or commissioning.
  • Support commissioning and turnover activities, including equipment and system inspections, testing, punch-listing, documentation, and final verification prior to energization and startup.
  • Provide field coaching and mentoring for project teams and trade partners regarding quality expectations, construction practices, inspection requirements, and documentation.
  • Assist the QA/QC Manager with developing and updating Hutton QA/QC procedures, identifying recurring quality issues, sharing lessons learned, and implementing practical improvements that reduce rework and improve project execution.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5–8 years of electrical construction experience on industrial jobsites (power generation, oil & gas, data centers, or heavy manufacturing).
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or construction management, Journeyman or Master electrical license, or equivalent field experience.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Follow OSHA regulations, Hutton safety policies, and company building standards at all times.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and applicable local/state electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and specifications.
  • Experience inspecting conduit runs, cable terminations, grounding/bonding systems, panels, switchgear, and transformers.
  • Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with SCADA

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • NICET certification.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Journeyman electrician, Lineman, or equivalent field electrical background.
  • Project coordination and management experience.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to obtain credentials or security clearances to work on military bases, refineries and other restricted-access sites.
  • You will work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Work may require night shift/travel.
  • Jobsites could be noisy and/or dusty.
