Hurco Companies, Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic Division Controller to join our Corporate Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing the financial accounting function for Hurco North America while providing financial leadership and operational support across the business.

The Division Controller partners closely with leaders in Sales, Marketing, Service, Operations, and Executive Management to ensure strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and informed business decision-making. This position plays a critical role in driving financial performance, improving business processes, and supporting the division's long‑term strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the North America accounting function.
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Manage the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements for Hurco North America, including Hurco USA and Hurco Midwest.
  • Analyze financial performance, operating results, and key variances to identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the annual business planning process and quarterly financial forecasting.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate requirements.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and credit risk management for distributors and end customers.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in the development and execution of strategic business initiatives.
  • Provide financial guidance and decision support to Sales, Marketing, Service, Supply Chain, and Operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement through business process optimization and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Develop and implement performance measurement tools, including balanced scorecards and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor industry, operational, and financial trends to proactively identify business risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure day-to-day business transactions are processed in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA a plus.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in accounting and finance.
  • Experience overseeing financial accounting, cost accounting, credit, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Public accounting experience with a Big Five/Big Four accounting firm strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience within a multinational organization preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and overall PC proficiency.
