Job description

The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia is seeking a skilled and dedicated Urologist to join our Surgery Service. As an essential member of our medical staff, you will provide comprehensive urologic care to our nation’s Veterans through outpatient clinics, inpatient management, surgical procedures, and consultative services.

  • Perform complete histories and physical examinations for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Provide ongoing management for assigned patients, including chronic and acute urologic conditions.
  • Screen and triage outpatient referrals for further evaluation or intervention.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, EKGs).
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice.
  • Conduct health promotion and disease prevention activities.
  • Draw blood specimens and perform basic lab procedures when needed.
  • Initiate and coordinate specialty consultations and diagnostic testing.
  • Provide age?appropriate care for adult and geriatric patients, adjusting treatment plans based on aging?related changes.
  • Perform urologic procedures in clinic, endoscopy, and the operating room.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of the facility’s endoscopic and surgical urology program.
  • Dictate operative notes, histories and physicals, admission notes, and discharge summaries.
