Desk Officer - J2 (SOCCENT Intelligence Operations) 

Morgan 6 is seeking a Desk Officer to support intelligence operations within the J2 directorate at U.S. Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT). This role serves as a mission integrator and operational enabler in a dynamic, high-tempo environment supporting special operations across the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).This position is performed in a secure facility (SCIF) in Tampa, FL, and requires maintaining continuous situational awareness of global events, mission progress, and operational posture. The Desk Officer acts as a central coordination point for intelligence operations, ensuring alignment of collection priorities, operational requirements, and mission support activities. The Desk Officer will produce, review, and disseminate operational information and intelligence reporting to inform leadership and support field elements. This role requires frequent coordination across interagency, joint, and coalition partners supporting SOF missions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for coordination and integration of intelligence operations across the CENTCOM AOR
  • Manage collection priorities, mission support activities, and operational requirements
  • Maintain real-time situational awareness of global events and operational developments
  • Produce, review, and disseminate time-sensitive operational and intelligence reporting
  • Coordinate and communicate with interagency, military, and allied intelligence partners
  • Ensure compliance with applicable security policies and directives (EO 12333, CCR 380-1, DoD Manual 5240.01, AR 380-5)
  • Contribute to the development and review of intelligence products, including:
    • Counterintelligence Reviews
    • Damage Assessments
    • Production Reviews
    • Lead Generation Packets
    • Intelligence Support Packets
    • Targeting Packets
  • Monitor and maintain the timeliness, accuracy, and effectiveness of intelligence reporting
  • Utilize intelligence databases such as CHROME, CRATE, and GCOMS in daily operations
  • Support HUMINT operations through advanced analysis, including HUMINT Targeting Cycle, HVI Targeting, and Human Terrain Analysis
  • Apply expert knowledge of HUMINT doctrine, methodologies, and operational systems
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat to support operational requirements

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of specialized experience
  • Advanced experience with intelligence systems (e.g., CHROME, CRATE, G2G, and similar databases)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Intelligence Cycle
    • HUMINT Targeting Cycle & HVI Targeting
    • HUMINT Factors and Human Terrain Analysis
  • Deep knowledge of HUMINT doctrine, methodologies, and operational frameworks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

Work Environment

  • Full-time support within a SCIF environment at SOCCENT
  • High-tempo, mission-driven environment supporting special operations

  • May require shift work, extended hours, or surge support based on operational needs

Competitive Compensation & Benefits

Compensation varies based on factors such as location, experience, and skill set. For positions based in California, Colorado, D.C., Maryland, New York, or Washington, the salary range is $80,000 - $106,000 (if annualized).
