Job description

Center for Human Development (CHD), is seeking Senior Direct Care/MAP Specialist for a new Intensive Treatment Residential (ITR) program that will be located in West Springfield, MA. This program provides long term support for male adolescents (5-13 years of age). In this program, the population served will receive housing, therapeutic, emotional, and educational support with a goal to develop healthy and fulfilling relationships that will solidify skills and apply them to real world settings.
Your role as Senior Direct Care:
The Senior Direct Care/MAP specialist assists program leadership with the oversight of their assigned shifts to meet the needs of the youth and their families. The behavioral health profiles/histories of the youth being referred to the congregate care settings are complex and require 24/7 supervision. The Senior Direct Care/MAP specialist assists in maintaining a structured and therapeutic environment that builds on the youth's strengths to build self-regulation skills; responds to the daily care and treatment needs of all youth in a manner that is respectful of and responsive to diversity across all human characteristics. The Senior Direct Care/MAP specialist will assist in ensuring that the overall delivery of behavioral health treatment is in line with the youth's treatment plans and effective at all times. They will ensure that the maximum integration of CHD services are being carried out efficiently and effectively. The Senior Direct Care/MAP specialist additionally works in collaboration with the LPN and RN to manager the med room in accordance to the MAP policy/regulations.
The Senior Direct Care staff functions in a lead capacity for a group of staff and must be able to schedule and control the daily shift responsibilities. This entails the Senior Direct Care Staff delegating shift duties to teammates for the shift and ensuring there is follow-through for tasks completion.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with the population served.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or a High School diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Driver's license required.
  • Have a legally registered & insured car for work use.
  • Experience working with youth and their families.
  • Experience in community child welfare and mental health programming.
  • Previous supervisor experience.

Success Factors:
Ideal candidates will need to:
  • Hold Medication Administration Program (MAP).
  • Hold an active CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Be detail oriented and a dedicated team player.
  • Have previous experience in supervisor capacity.

The pay rate is $21/hr.
