Job description

The HR Specialist supports the Human Resources Department by providing expertise in employee relations, compliance, and employee support throughout the employment lifecycle. This position serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders by interpreting Human Resources policies, conducting workplace investigations, coordinating workers' compensation and leave administration, and promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
The HR Specialist partners with leaders to ensure the consistent application of policies and employment laws, supports employee engagement and retention initiatives, maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, and assists with recruitment and onboarding activities as needed to support departmental operations. This role requires excellent judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to both employees and leadership.

  • Schedule:
    • Full-time, 36 hours per week.
    • Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
    • Friday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Pre-Employment Requirements:
    • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.
  • Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
    • Previous hospital or healthcare HR experience required.
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR regulations, and healthcare compliance standards preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Workers' Compensation laws and processes.
    • Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
    • Experience handling employee relations matters and workplace concerns.
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Assist with the onboarding and orientation of new employees.
    • Serve as a resource for employees by addressing workplace concerns and inquiries.
    • Support the resolution of employee conflicts, grievances, and employee relations issues.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, healthcare regulations, and organizational policies.
    • Assist with audits, accreditation requirements, and regulatory reporting activities.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
    • Generate HR reports and workforce analytics to support organizational objectives.
