What we’re looking for in a Human Resources Generalist:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Prior work experience of at least three (3) years employee relations / human resources
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, independent means of transportation to travel within the company’s service area. Must have a valid driver’s license and must drive a car with at least the state minimum required insurance coverage.

What you’ll do as a Human Resources Generalist:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Conduct job interviews, facilitate new hire orientation, maintain and update new hire documentation, and assist with the onboarding process, including employee badge processing and benefits enrollment.
  • HR Program Administration: Execute and administer various human resource programs related to compensation, benefits, leave of absence, disciplinary actions, disputes, performance management, and occupational health and safety.
  • Employee Inquiries: Address employment-related inquiries from job applicants, employees, and supervisors, collaborating with management on complex or sensitive issues.
  • Disciplinary Processes: Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Training Coordination: Manage the CPR/Heart-Saver First Aid (HSFA) program, including scheduling classes, tracking certification, and handling related invoices.
  • Compliance Tracking: Update tracking systems with employee requirements such as licenses, certifications, and health tests, and notify employees of upcoming expirations.
  • Background Checks: Conduct thorough reference checks, criminal background checks, and other necessary verifications for new hires.
  • File Maintenance: Maintain organized employee files in both electronic and paper formats, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in employment law and talent management.
