Job description

South Jersey Distributor is seeking an HR Generalist to support the Director in implementing policies, plans, and procedures across all departments. This position requires an extremely detail-oriented person with broad knowledge of Human Resources, including state and federal guidelines, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Generalist is responsible for all Staffing/Recruitment activities, as well as Leave Administration and support for Payroll. Will also assist the Director at various times in all other HR functions, including Benefits Administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, reporting, and employee law compliance.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Director of Human Resources in the day-to-day administration of the complete HR function with a focus on consistent opportunities for improvements
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle recruiting process across the organization, including advertising, screening, interviews, and offers. Coordinates road tests for driver candidates and schedules pre-employment drug screening
  • Review, approve, process, and maintain timecards for Payroll. Continue to utilize Paylocity to streamline payroll operations.
  • Oversee all FMLA, Short-term Disability, and other Leave programs.
  • Run and maintain various reports on a weekly and monthly basis for Payroll and Union reporting.
  • Assist with the administration of all company-sponsored benefits programs and processes. This includes open enrollment, new hire enrollment, and employee life event administration.
  • Organize and facilitate the company's onboarding procedures for new hires, including background and E-Verify checks, pre-employment paperwork through HRIS, and New Hire Orientation.
  • Assist in the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Point of contact for Workers’ Compensation claim reporting and follow-up activities.
  • Administer the company’s quarterly random drug test program
  • Liaison for Certificate of Insurance; Provide updates to broker on needs and to customers on status.
  • Manage and track employee disciplinary action notices
  • Update job descriptions as needed to align with business objectives
  • Other duties as assigned.


SALARY:

· Salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 depending upon successful candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications.
