Reporting to the Senior HR Consultant- Team Lead, and the Director, Employee Relations and Scheduling the Talent and Benefits Associate will be accountable to provide receptionist duties and clerical support for Human Resource Services by providing excellent customer service to all staff, physicians, volunteers and the general public. In addition, they will provide administrative support to the Senior Human Resources Consultant for a specified client group including the full recruitment cycle, labour and employee relations and compensation and benefit functions. The incumbent will support various committees including preparation of agenda and minutes, and other miscellaneous documentation and play a key role in supporting initiatives that foster an inclusive and respectful workplace and accessible services. Further, the incumbent will support Employee Relations with workload tracking, grievance administration and management, and other employee and labour relations administrative tasks.

What must you have?

  • Completion of a relevant university/college program.
  • Actively working towards completion of Certification in Human Resources.
  • Minimum one year working experience in Human Resources in areas of recruitment, benefits, compensation required.
  • Health care experience an asset.

What else do you bring?

  • Current knowledge of Ontario Employment Legislation (ESA), WSIB, Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety mandatory.
  • Experience working with Collective Agreements preferred.
  • Working knowledge of recruitment and selection process/techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative; strong problem solving, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to maintain effectiveness during change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, patience and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative; strong problem solving and organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to successfully meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS an asset.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven attendance record
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
