WHAT WORKS BEING A PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT AT MEDSTAR INC?
·       Provide physical therapy services and care to patients under the direction of a PT and
·       Hands-on every day, you’ll do the work you trained for
·       Real-world caseload, PI, WC, ortho, sports, and geriatrics all in one week

WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBLITIES) AS PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT:
·       Provide physical therapy services and care to patients under the direction of a PT and according to the physician’s plan of care
·       Deliver exercise instruction, therapeutic activities, manual treatment, and gait/balance training
·       Build trust and rapport with patients who may be frustrated, fearful, or struck, especially those in PI and WC cases
·       Document progress clearly and support the PT’s plan and protect the patient’s journey
·       Communicate regularly with the supervising PT about patient status, barriers, and wins
·       Help patients improve movement, manage pain, and return to what matters to them
·       Adhere to ethical and legal standards with compassion and professionalism
WHAT YOU, PTA, BRING (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS):
·       Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
·       Current and unrestricted California PTA license
·       Excellent knowledge of physiology best practices and standards
·       Solid understanding and practice of hands-on therapeutic exercise, functional training, and physical modalities
