Job Description/Duties:
Monrovia in Dayton, Oregon is currently looking for a Post-Graduate Internship Craftsman. This position involves working intensely with the Propagation Department developing knowledge and fostering experience for future full-time employment opportunities. Additionally, there will be opportunities to work with other departments at the direction of the Propagation Department Coach.
It is also the responsibility of this Craftsman to adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe, secure, and confidential working environment in all aspects of our production. Continual improvement on processes and ideas for efficiencies are strongly encouraged. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with reasonable accommodations, to support the Monrovia Nursery organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related field, experience in agriculture work is strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills are required, with MS Office familiarity highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication is required.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds repeatedly, 65 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds with help.
  • Able to carry out movements and repetitive tasks during an 8-10-hour workday which includes but not limited to grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, grasping, squatting, twisting, standing, walking for long periods of time, lifting above shoulders.
  • Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be available to work Monday- Friday- 7:30am to 4pm, with additional hours as necessary.

Compensation:
