About the role
DESRI is seeking an experienced Director, Human Capital to lead the organization's people strategy across employee relations, performance management, talent development, and workforce planning. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping navigate complex people matters while continuing to strengthen a high-performing organization. The role requires exceptional judgment, credibility, and the ability to balance business priorities with thoughtful, practical people solutions.
What you'll do
  • Serve as a trusted Human Capital partner to leaders across the organization, providing strategic counsel on a broad range of people and organizational matters.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, including performance management, support managers on employee performance, career development, talent planning, organizational change, and other complex people decisions.
  • Partner with business leaders to strengthen team performance and talent outcomes.
  • Develop and continuously improve Human Capital policies, practices, and processes that support a high-performing organization.
  • Lead annual talent, performance, promotion, and succession planning.
  • Monitor employment law developments and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Contribute to broader Human Capital and business initiatives that support DESRI's continued growth.

Qualifications
  • At least 10+ years of progressive Human Capital experience, with deep expertise in employee relations, performance management, talent management, and manager development.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating complex employee matters with sound judgment, discretion, and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust, establish credibility, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to balance employee experience with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience improving Human Capital processes, policies, and ways of working while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, and execution.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience supporting professional services, financial services, infrastructure, energy, or similarly high-performing organizations is preferred.
  • At DESRI, we consider a wide range of factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The expected annual base salary for this position is $175,000 - $200,000.
  • Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
