POSITION SUMMARY:

HUB International is seeking to add a Commercial Lines Producer to our sales team in the Ohio market! The Commercial Lines Producer will develop new business relationships and insurance solutions for prospective HUB clients and build a book of business by driving new business development and growth for the region. They will be responsible for identifying client needs, educating clients of the organization's full scope of insurance offerings, and maintaining a high skill level with client relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and develop insurance prospects.

  • Prequalify insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk.

  • Use lead lists to establish contact and schedule appointments.

  • Meet with prospective clients and existing clients.

  • Maintain knowledge of carrier and wholesaler needs and make recommendations to Account Executive during the submission process.

  • Design insurance programs and recommend coverages to clients based on risk characteristics.

  • Submit complete and accurate applications and related submission documentation to Account Executive.

  • Meet new business production goals and objectives as determined.

  • Must conduct phone prospecting, face-to-face prospecting and through social media efforts.

  • Conduct sales presentation to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business.

  • Explain coverage and exclusions to clients and document explanations in agency management system.

  • Educate clients on agency payment expectations and cancellation procedures.

  • Provide claim assistance to clients.

  • Contact clients for collection of past due premiums, as needed.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage a book of business for additional business and referrals.

  • Solicit referrals from clients.

  • Review existing accounts/policies at least annually to round out accounts and address any changes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid Ohio Property & Casualty license is required

  • 7+ years of experience in sales

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.

  • Maintain Errors & Omissions insurance

  • Meet state continuing education requirements

  • Knowledge of EPIC system a plus

  • Ability to work well under deadlines in changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Reliable transportation to meet with prospective and existing clients

  • Above average analytical skills to determine prospective client needs

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software
