Job description

  1. Health, Safety and Environmental:
    1. The HSE Technician has responsibility for all items listed below in each facility assigned to him/her but not limited to items that are delegated by the HSE Facility Coordinator and or Group HSE Manager. These duties shall include but not be limited to the following:
      • Ensure new personnel receive documented HS&E training in accordance with - New Employee HS&E Orientation - and ensure training is documented. This HS&E training is to be completed before the new employee works on the production floor.
      • Perform and/or assist required HS&E documented training for all personnel in accordance with Hunting, OSHA, and ISO 14001 / 45001 requirements.
      • Conduct monthly HSE training meetings on topics established and approved by the HSE Facility Coordinator or Group HSE Manager.
      • Inspect and maintain HS&E equipment, including fire extinguishers, safety eye wash stations, first aid kits, AEDs, and Emergency Spill Kits
      • Manage and track all employees' HSE training and certifications using the facility-specific training matrix to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
      • Assist department Managers/Supervisors to create and revise Risk Assessments for each Job Description and perform and/or assist in documented training for all personnel.
      • Assist department Managers/Supervisors to create JSEA's (Job Safety Environmental Analysis) at the facility for all non-routine activities and processes.
      • Alerts HSE Facility Coordinator immediately regarding any incident or potential HS&E issues.
      • Assist Managers/Supervisors with the initial investigation of workplace accidents and incidents and communicate findings to the HSE Facility Coordinator or Group HSE Manager. Provide first aid when necessary and transport employees to medical facilities when needed. Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and submitted within 24 hours into the HSE management system. Submit all investigation documentation to the HSE Facility Coordinator or Group HSE Manager for review and approval prior to finalization.
      • Perform monthly HS&E facility Audit: The scope of this audit shall include a general audit of all HS&E issues, including, but not limited to, PPE, fire protection, housekeeping, and environmental issues, documented on the appropriate form. The audit shall be submitted to the Operations Manager for review and approval. Once approved by the Operations Manager, the audit shall be submitted to the HSE Facility Coordinator or Group HSE Manager for review and the distribution of Corrective Actions and/or Preventive Actions that may have been notated during the audit. Additionally, track and ensure all non-conforming items from prior audits are addressed and closed.
      • Manage all Corrective Action Requests and Potential Improvement Reports specific to the facility.
      • Perform visual weekly facility assessment of non-hazardous / hazardous waste. Coordinate non-hazardous and hazardous waste disposal/pick-ups in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Manage the facility waste management program and any applicable trackers for waste.
      • Maintain SDS database/SDS Books for the facility.
      • Identify workplace hazards or unsafe working conditions and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken encouraging safe working practices.
      • Ensure equipment, tooling and the shop areas are in safe working conditions.
      • Assist Operations Manager to ensure the facility's operations comply with Hunting's HS&E Manual / Procedures and any applicable regulation or standard.
      • Contractors must receive the required training from the facility's HS&E orientation and have the "Non-Hunting Personnel Agreement" completed before working on any Hunting location. Other training documents may be used by the facility if
      • Assist Management in completing Management of Change processes that may negatively impact the Health, Safety, or Environment of the facility.
      • Ensure we are in compliance with SWPPP / SPCC by completing the required storm water plan documents - routine inspections, documenting spills, quarterly visuals.
