As a Sr HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's health, safety, and environmental engineering efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the implementation of best practices in engineering-related safety.
In this role, you will impact our organization by overseeing the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders will ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our business as a responsible and sustainable organization.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical HSE leadership and day-to-day support to ensure employees, contractors, and visitors work safely.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety culture and HSE performance.
  • Conduct inspections and GEMBAs
  • Validate risk assessments
  • Support contractor safety
  • Review management of change impacts
  • Maintain compliance tasks and documentation
  • Coach supervisors and employees
  • Analyze HSE metrics
  • Lead or support incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are completed on time and verified for effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive HSE strategies aligned with the organization's mission
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Implement safety measures, training, and policies
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits
  • Develop emergency response plans
  • Lead HSE engagement teams such as the Safety Committee, First Aid AED CPR and Emergency Response teams
  • Promote environmental sustainability
  • Enforce quality control standards
  • Utilize technology for safety monitoring
  • Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders for effective communication on HSE matters

**Must be willing to work 2nd Shift 2PM - 11PM or Split Shift 12AM - 9AM**
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 5+ years of experience in HSE Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements, hazard identification and risk assessment, incident investigation and root cause analysis, contractor safety, PPE, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, material-handling safety, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, chemical safety, and environmental compliance obligations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, HSE tracking or reporting systems, incident and corrective-action documentation, spreadsheet-based data analysis, presentation preparation, email communication, and maintaining accurate electronic records

  • Advanced degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Certification in Health Safety and Environmental from accredited organizations, ISO45000 or IS)14001 auditor training, first aid/CPR, forklift or powered industrial truck safety knowledge, and/or industrial hygiene awareness.
