Job description

Overview

NaphCare is currently hiring a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team at our Corporate Office located in Birmingham, AL.

As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will primarily support our client-site operational leaders and medical staff working in jails and prisons across the United States.

Responsibilities

The HRBP is responsible for partnering with the operations team to successfully develop and engage the healthcare teams at jail and prison sites. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:

  • Effectively communicating with staff, including by providing employees details of onboarding, building employee relationships, and addressing employment and compensation concerns
  • Traveling to newly acquired sites to onboard and train employees
  • Conducting thorough, legally compliant internal investigations and working through employee relations issues
  • Being a champion of Employee Engagement, and in turn, driving the behaviors to positively impact the employee
  • Providing day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Providing guidance and input on assigned sites’ workforce planning and succession planning
  • Ensuring compliance with all state and federal statutes, laws, and regulations including all applicable wage and hour laws, FMLA, OSHA, EEO and ADA
  • Increasing NaphCare’s efficiency and effectiveness and contributing actively to NaphCare’s success in providing proactive healthcare in jails
Qualifications

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in Human Resources as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
  • Working knowledge of HR disciplines (e.g. staffing and recruiting; employee relations, compensation management, organization development etc.) and employment law
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to make decisions and seek a resolution without direction
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and conflict-resolution skills
  • Project management (e.g. work planning, resource sharing) including facilitating and coordinating groups
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and understanding of operational environments
  • Travel up to 10-25%
